Brother Arrested in India Over Murder of Melbourne Teacher Sunil Sharma After Alleged Confession

Melbourne-based teacher Sunil Sharma, aged 66, went missing in India after travelling to sell property for retirement. Police have arrested his brother Sunny Sharma, who is accused of murder and allegedly confessed to disposing of the body in a river with his son. The body has not yet been recovered as investigations continue.

Sunil Sharma, a 66-year-old mathematics teacher at Diamond Valley College in Melbourne, Australia, has gone missing in India under suspicious circumstances, leading to a murder investigation that has now resulted in the arrest of his brother.

According to information provided, Sunil Sharma had travelled to India to sell two properties with the intention of returning to Australia and settling into retirement. His sudden disappearance raised alarm among family members, who described the situation as suspicious. They further stated that his brother, Sunny Sharma, was the last person known to have seen him alive.

Two weeks after Sunil Sharma was reported missing, Indian police charged Sunny Sharma with his brother’s murder.
